Spirit of the Llynfi Valley

Maesteg, an old valley, was once bustling with numerous collieries, but now stands devoid of any. The closure of the last pit, St. John's Colliery, in 1985 marked the end of an era.

This project reveres the town's illustrious history and the enduring impact of the mines on its landscapes and the community's spirit. Maesteg owes its identity and evolution to the profound influence of its mining heritage.
